We celebrated by rolling out the red carpet, but the day also contained an educational element, with around 60 people being given a detailed presentation of all the technical aspects of the facility. Visitors were offered tours of the plant, nibbles and an opportunity to mingle. Peder Grunditz, the Airport Director at Arlanda, cut the ribbon and made a speech. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The visitors included representatives from many different companies and countries. Visitors we met included Yannick Vos from Schiphol (Amsterdam Airport), representatives from Scandinavian Mountains Airport\/S\u00e4len Airport and Hasan Cavit from Istanbul Airport, all of whom were very interested in the Arlanda facility.<\/p>\n

Also present was Anette Ferm, the project manager whose job it has been to try to find a recycling solution for glycol processing that is environmentally and financially viable for the whole of Swedavia. We caught up with Anette for a chat. \u201cI am very much looking forward to following production in the new glycol recycling facility after several years of preparation. It has been a long haul, but the facility is finally ready and this is very special for those of us who have been working on this for many years.<\/em><\/p>\n

Swedavia has high expectations of the plant in terms of capacity and accessibility, but it will also be interesting to monitor logistics from all Swedavia airports. I\u2019m looking forward to the coming winter. <\/em>The presentations given at the event last week were pitched at a good technical level, enabling everyone attending the opening to follow the process,\u201d<\/em> concluded Anette.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a milestone for the entire group that the new facility at Arlanda is now up and running,\u201d<\/em> said Lars Rosell, Chairman of the Vilokan group and CEO of Vilokan ADF Solutions. Vilokan has a contract with Swedavia to set up 10 facilities at airports all over Sweden.\u00a0 Facilities have been up\u00a0 and running at full capacity for several years at the airports in Lule\u00e5 and Gothenburg. Vilokan has also built a facility in Montreal and the facility at Arlanda is a copy of this.\u201d<\/p>\n
