Swedish airport operator Swedavia, serving 37.6 million passengers annually, holds a leading position within environmental areas. Vilokan has been tasked with closing the loop system so that Swedavia can recycle and reuse valuable glycol from all 10 airports in Sweden.<\/span><\/p>\n

Previously, 10,000 tonnes were sent to sewage treatment facilities. Instead the glycol can now be recycled!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Since 2011, Vilokan ADF Solutions has been commissioned nationally by Swedavia to reduce damage to the environment, clean water and recycle the glycol from the used de-icing fluids. This is done through a combination of technology and competence to ensure the lowest possible operating costs and the greatest possible environmental consideration.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lule\u00e5 since 2002<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The first facility established for Swedavia is at Kallax Lule\u00e5 Airport (LLA) and has been operational since 2002. It has been developed and improved over the years and is today a full-service facility with maximum capacity for glycol recycling.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gothenburg since 2010<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2010, G\u00f6teborg Landvetter Airport (GOT) became the first airport to install a service solution from Vilokan ADF Solutions, which is also responsible for the running of the facility using its own staff.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stockholm Arlanda since 2018<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Swedavia will once again be a pioneer when it gives ADF Vilokan Solutions the responsibility for managing an end-to-end solution at a new, state-of-the-art facility which will become operational in the autumn of 2018 at Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN). Vilokan is responsible for everything, from financing and planning to construction and continuous operations. Swedavia is taking big strides in its sustainability efforts and Vilokan handles everything \u2013 thanks to the valuable raw material which can be reused. Win-win.<\/span><\/p>\n

A network solution<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

With a wide-spread network of equipment and facilities, Vilokan is able to offer efficient solutions to every airport operated by Swedavia. For every individual case, there is an analysis of how far the process should be taken at each location and when it is better to continue the processing at one of the company\u2019s other facilities.
